ON the decision by a planning inspector to approve the contentious application by Gladman for 150 homes on Mankley Field in Leonard Stanley on appeal after it was were refused by Stroud District Council.
Posted by Grains: District council is to blame here.
Posted by jaytee8937: Could not agree more.
Posted by A Stroud Worm: 1) To the two posters above me, I assume you are okay with strangers coming to watch you at work and offering non-supportive criticism of everything you do?
2) Rather than just sigh and moan, where would you have decided to build the new houses instead? Please offer more info than a sigh.

Hillary1: What about the Coalition and its local representative who opened the floodgates to the developers with their failed planning reforms?
We are feeling the force of that much more than the actions of our local planning department that has been ravaged by cuts over the last four years and stripped of any meaningful power.
If you want someone local to blame, blame Neil Carmichael.
Posted by Grains: I have made comments on related stories for the past three years, the sigh is due to a complete exhaustion of saying the same thing for the last three years and watching SDC not have the ability to see what is directly in front of them. To spend three years saying “if this isn’t sorted soon guys you will have no control over development in our backyard” and then to sit here trying not to say ‘I told you so’ when we get developer lead planning is exhausting.
On the opening of the Vodafone shop in Stroud High Street.
Posted by Andyinstroud: Yet another phone shop. Amazing how many of them - cafes, charity shops and other useless places - there are in Stroud.
Would be nice to actually get a decent menswear shop for a change.
