MADAM – As a long-term customer of Lloyds Bank I was concerned to see they were recently fined £200 million for rate-fixing.
Seeing no company statement in the media, I called into Stroud Lloyds in the hope they would have something pinned on the wall.
No such luck.
At the inquiry desk I was told that staff only knew what they had seen on the news.
They refused to give me a phone number of any of the staff who might be preparing a response, or even their address.
Nor would they supply the address of their head office.
In fact they would only supply the phone number and address of ‘customer services’ and we all know what a waste of time that would be.
Such secrecy from a semi-nationalised company, which has just been found guilty of crooked dealing, leaves a lot to be desired.
I asked if somebody would make suitable inquiries and come back to me... but I’m not holding my breath.
