MADAM – I appreciate that my memory does not serve me that well now my years are gathering, but I seem to recall that when the Stroud District Council took over operating the Merrywalks car-park at the end of last year, their promise was to update and modernise the facility.
I anticipate twelve months have passed and nothing has changed, well almost. When turning the corners, the pot holes are deepening but that is not progress.
The paint still looks tired and the promised facelift seems a distant memory.
When exiting into Rowcroft Retreat, visibility from a low slung car is restricted to traffic coming up from the left and a row or two of bricks would increase safety with little cost.
I suppose that the charge for parking has not risen so that is a bonus in these days.
How long do we wait before the promised improvements will be actioned?
I presume revenue from this source is used for other expenses following the Government’s use of road taxes.
