ON the pumpclip being displayed in pubs which mocks MP Neil Carmichael’s decision to vote against legislation aimed at protecting tenant landlords – after declaring that he would be supporting the bill.

Posted by BigBoy22: It’s all very well changing your mind after a debate Neil but if you had done your homework properly and checked out the facts before stating your position then you wouldn’t find yourself in this position.

On the problem of delivery lorries becoming stuck on the corner of Gloucester Street in Stroud.

Posted by nick.marklove: Length limit signs would avoid this.

Posted by jhon b: If only they would put a sign up by Halfords to tell the drivers where the Merrywalks unloading yard is then this would not have happened.

Posted by kjag23: The driver is not to blame, a huge number of us rely on sat nav these days. There are absolutely no warning signs at the bottom of Gloucester Street regarding this, how was the driver to know he wouldn’t fit?

On Gloucestershire County Council’s three alternatives if the Government rejects plans to build the Javelin Park incinerator.

Posted by Bonkim: What this lot does not understand is that MBT is an intermediate process which composts/dries the input material. The resultant refuse-derived fuel RFD has to be sent to an energy from waste plant if of satisfactory quality or sent to landfill. There is a glut of RFD in the UK at present because of MBTs in operation. Considerable portion of this is exported to Europe where they are burnt in EFW facilities and they also get the EU Green-credits as a result.

Listening to misguided pseudo-environmentalists like Glosvain only helps to bump up waste processing costs - more importantly multiple collection, transport, and process stages add to the carbon footprint of the total process cycle.

MBT is not the answer.
