ON the revelation that Eric Pickles delegated the decision on the Javelin Park incinerator to a junior minister.

Posted by James Makepeace: You really have to wonder what we pay Pickles for if all the decisions are taken by ‘junior ministers’.

The fact is that he’s suddenly realised there is a powerful body of public anger at the grubby way this has been bulldozed through and, with an election coming up, is trying to deflect blame from himself.

Well Mr Pickles, you wear the ministerial hat and collect the ministerial salary, so YOU must bear responsibility.

I sincerely hope this appalling action produces a seriously reduced vote in the forthcoming elections.

The sheer nerve with which these people have sought o coerce an unwilling public into accepting their huge, ugly, polluting, expensive money-spinning monstrosity simply beggars belief.

The Tories should be voted out of Gloucestershire on the strength of this alone.

Whoever signed this one off should be stripped of career and pension.

On the criticism of a new range of ceramic goods called Isis launched by Prince Charles at Highgrove.HRH has pointed out that the range is named after the River Thames in Oxford and not the terror organisation.

Posted by kjag23: Isis is a word that has been around for thousands of years, it is in fact the name of the ancient Egyptian goddess (the one with the long wings).

Because it has been hijacked by one terrorist group it doesn’t mean anything with Isis in the name is automatically terror related. Same thing happened to the Hindu symbol that become the Nazi swastika. It has entirely innocent roots but some crackpot uses it for their own evil cause and then it’s out of use forever.
