MADAM - Amazing.

Don't want to say I said so but I did.

For several months I sent letters to your column saying what madness putting a blanket 20mph zone on Stroud.

I put my objections into the council and relevant agencies.

I was knocked back time again, telling me that no one agreed and yet here we are the other side and Mr Brian Marks now has a petition.

Not only that but he has made all the local papers and is gathering support.

Such a shame that tax payers have had to except the bill for all these new signs and paint jobs on the roads, maybe only to see if a consultation is undertaken, that if found to be wanting and things get changed again, then more tax payers money.

I am fully behind Mr Marks petition and of course have signed it.

I wish him luck in taking on Cllr Lunnon.

I believe she has always had an alternative agenda, one which doesn't often fit with green issues, but more to do with using her position to her advantage.

If a proper consultation had taken place at the beginning, then maybe all of this could have been avoided.

If some of this is overturned and that's a big if of course, perhaps Cllr Lunnon should be asked to explain herself.

Why do it?

Just one other note.

As I drive around sticking to these limits, I and several others I know have been overtaken.

Well Cllr Lunnon, tell me how your 20mph on all roads is safer than before.

I don't need to point out this is much more dangerous having vehicle's going probably quicker than 30mph to achieve these passes.

What next?

Ban all traffic from Stroud?

Maybe this was her agenda all along.

The petition is no surprise and only shows me that as thought, a blanket 20mph zone is crazy.
