MADAM – Sadly, because of the first-past-the-post voting system, if a few hundred principled Stroud citizens vote Green in May 2015, then we get an ineffective Blue MP.

So, let’s celebrate the donation of £20,000 by Dale Vince to help David Drew, a noted green champion, get re-elected as our MP.

The Green New Deal and renewable energy development is vital for jobs in Stroud and nationally, as well as addressing fuel poverty and climate change.

We also need David Drew to champion co-op policies nationally again, because new Tory government tax policies will pull the plug on hundreds of local green energy co-op schemes.

Such schemes are a national ethical investment success story, and we need David to stand up for them.

Perhaps David Drew can briefly outline his green values, his record on green issues and his specific green election manifesto pledges? This could help build the confidence of more Greens to vote for him.

For example, he opposes Trident renewal, Frankenstein GMO foods, fracking, incineration – and supports the development of local food chains and re-nationalising the railways.

However, there must be some way that a social media platform can provide ways for a would-be Green voter in Stroud being able to vote for David Drew, in return for a would-be Labour voter in Brighton Pavilion, Caroline Lucas MP’s seat, voting Green?
