ON Nailsworth coming in at number 32 on the Sunday Times list of the best rural places to live in Britain.

Posted by Phyllus Jones: Picturesque Nailsworth, with the picturesque Selsley Common nearby. Do those in the Stroud district really know how fortunate they are? With the canal connecting the Severn to the Thames being in the process of being rebuilt and the railway line through Stroud now being fully redoubled, the tourists will soon be flocking to the area in far greater numbers than presently. The peaceful tranquillity of Nailsworth can’t last, so enjoy it while it lasts.

On the plans to put pharmacies at community hospitals including Stroud out to tender Posted by Mary Taylor: Councillors on the health committees knew about this in November last year. Why was it not discussed at health scrutiny committee meeting? Fait accompli? Ooh it’s all so terrible - vote for us and we’ll make it all better. How about doing stuff at the time?

On the social media debate about the roundabout on the A46 in Nailsworth.

Posted by taylorpen: This roundabout has been an on going problem for years. It is sited in the wrong place as cars coming from Stroud cannot see if anything is coming down the hill.

On the concerns about the privatisation of the NHS.

Posted by steve1234:Labour has pledged to repeal the 2012 health and social care act.

Posted by carolinem: Yes - but replace it with what? Labour has refused to draw any red lines about private sector involvement in the NHS. And remember, the threatened privatisation of Stroud and other district hospitals which SATC successfully fought off was made possible by Labour legislation, not the health and social care act 2012.
