ON Sunday morning, March 7, I stopped at Selsley Common like many other dog walkers to enjoy the freedom and loveliness of one of the many beauty spots in the Stroud area, only to be confronted with 12 Argos carrier bags each containing a bulky 2015 catalogue.
Not mistakenly dropped, but deliberately dumped into a hollow at the edge of a car park.
The laziness, and totally lack of respect people show to our environment is staggering.
It would have needed a car to dispose of them – they were heavy.
My first instinct after loading them in my car was to return the items to Argos as being their property, but then I decided to recycle them instead.
At least they can be made into something useful.
Pity we can’t do the same with the offenders.
Litter is prevalent all over the county. Would SDC or The National Trust be able to put litter bins on the commons?
