I FEEL David Cameron, the re-elected prime minister, gave an excellent and compassionate speech reaching out especially to the Liberal and Labour parties that lost so many seats, hopefully with the intention of holding Great Britain together.
Locally, I would like to congratulate the potential MPs and the re-elected MP, Neil Carmichael on their campaign and for all the extremely hard work done by their support staff.
However, generally I am concerned, like many others, are by the insidious nature of the Tory Party campaign.
The main Conservative campaign was at least partly based on generating ‘fear’ politics, aiming to make the public insecure if they voted Labour in the economic and financial realm, which however is based on some reality.
Another factor was the way they turned their backs on the Liberal party, their coalition partners, who became scapegoats, as they put ‘country before party’ in some situations.
Lastly, the National Health Service as I mentioned in a previous letter you kindly published will have to ‘watch its back,’ so to speak.
