I AM on holiday in France and one of my friends sent me your paper’s article on the quest for selling Stroud RFC land to improve the club’s ailing finances.
If the application had failed and rugby ceased to be played at Fromehall Park, more than 200 junior rugby players would have lost their opportunity in the game as well as the highly successful adult teams.
Fifty members of Stroud Squash Club would have also lost their courts.
I would not understand anyone who would want to stop all these people by denying their favourite sports at a time when many so need exercise rather than the onset of obesity.
