ON THE judicial review on the controversial Javelin Park incinerator, which will be held tomorrow: Posted by James Makepeace: It is scandalous that, whatever the outcome of the high court case, the same MP, junior minister Brandon Lewis, will take the decision again on the dreadful idea of a giant incinerator at Javelin Park.

The entire thing seems to be a fix, with no realistic way for the people of Gloucestershire to stop these powerful people from inflicting on them something which will not only be enormous, ugly and inappropriate, scarring the rural Severn Vale, but will pollute the atmosphere permanently in the future, deposit poisons on neighbouring farmland, and seriously damage the value of local homes.

Posted by combemarshal: All along they sold this to the public in the wrong way.

If they said they were building a power station that ran on waste we produce then everyone would think it was amazing!

It wasn’t long ago Javelin Park was a huge distribution and storage depot with constant traffic and horrible to look at.

Whatever is going to end up being built there, incinerator, football stadium etc, will always get protested against.

ON THE Romanian fraud gang which targeted a dying Painswick woman by stealing her bank card: Posted by Phyllus Jones: A similar fraud gang ripped off my debit card near to Paddington Station five years ago. All of these debit card rip-offs seem to be by people from offshore who have gained the right to enter the UK from the ‘"open door"’ policy of the Treaty on the European Union. The sooner we get the vote on the UK leaving the EU, the better.
