I WAS very sorry to read about Mr Francis Ray’s Road Rage ordeal in his letter to the Stroud News & Journal 15/7/15.
I had a similar experience years ago on the M25 returning from Gatwick Airport.
A London taxi cab driver and therefore supposedly a professional driver, overtook me and braked so sharply I had to brake as hard as I could to avoid running into the back of the cab.
I was absolutely terrified.
Who among us has never made a small mistake when driving – the Biblical phrase “casting the first stone” comes to mind here!
I find the Constable’s (assuming it was a police constable and not a higher ranking officer) response curious.
Is it the current police policy that if road rage is provoked, then it is okay?
