I WRITE to offer my appreciation to Gloucestershire Highways for their work in improving the junction at Cainscross Road and Gannicox.
Last year, SNJ published a letter in which I complained that this junction was dangerous for drivers wanting to turn right out of Gannicox.
They were unable to see oncoming traffic because of parked cars.
Following publication of letter, I received a lot of verbal support from my neighbours, who told of their personal near misses while trying to leave Gannicox.
At least one car driver was involved in a minor prang at this junction.
The highways inspector visited the site and fully agreed with residents' concerns.
Their solution of painting a cycle path on the right from Gannicox is simple and practical.
It will vastly improve safety by, hopefully, stopping all-day parking near this dangerous junction.
Well done Gloucestershire Highways.
