ON the ongoing debate about the refugee crisis.

Posted by Haloge: While it is very laudable to help the ‘refugees’ in Calais, may I suggest that all these ‘asylum seekers’ with a just cause be registered in France, and that everyone else be returned to their countries of origin.

This whole matter has got completely out of hand, and our politicians appear to be incapable of taking a firm hand out of fear of being called ‘racist’ and ‘xenophobic’ by soft leftists who appear to have taken leave of their senses.

Now the EU is awash with tired, poor, huddled masses yearning for handouts, homes, and a better internet connection.

Yes, the patients have taken over the asylum.

Posted by Adie: What a load of ill informed nonsense.

Posted by Haloge: The same, of course, could be said about you Adie but I will desist until such time as you can provide details to fully support your claim.

Posted by Allan Zed: Au contraire Adie, you appear to be incredibly ill-informed and bigoted. Bigotry is often the straight consequence of ignorance and misinformation. Of deliberate ignorance, in many cases.

On MP Neil Carmichael’s column on the need to tackle climate.

Posted by Haloge: Well I must say it’s good to see Neil apparently waving his green credentials.

In which case perhaps he could explain to us all why his Government is:- 1. Scrapping support for onshore wind farms.

2. Axing solar subsidies.

3. Killing off the Green Homes Scheme.

4. Selling off the Green Investment Bank.

5. Has scrapped the incentive to buy a greener car.

6. Abandoned plans to make all new homes “zero carbon”.

7. Allowing fracking in SSSI.

I could go on, but I don’t want to sound like a politician.
