MR STEVE Lydon’s letter (October 21) has prompted me to add a voice of thanks for the dedicated work of the Royal Gloucestershire Hospital.

Over the past 11 months, my wife and myself have required both in and out patient care.

The treatment and support we received was first rate and could not be faulted in any way.

From consultants down to the tea lady, everyone was efficient, kind and helpful – a true example of what a modern NHS should be.

These good people often work under demanding and trying conditions, often with little or no appreciation of their efforts.

It is due time this situation changed and the moaners and fault finders became the voice of gratefulness.
