FLAMBOYANT fashion guru Isabella Blow told doctors she had taken the weed killer paraquat just before she died, a coroner has revealed.
Tests on the 48-year-old stylist's body have proved positive for the deadly chemical, said deputy Gloucestershire coroner David Dooley on Thursday.
Further toxicological tests are to be undertaken before her inquest in October.
Mr Dooley was opening the inquest into the death of Mrs Blow, who lived at Edge near Painswick.
Her funeral was due to be held yesterday, Tuesday, at Gloucester Cathedral, where she married her husband Detmar in 1989.
Film star Rupert Everett was due to give one of the readings and among the guests expected were model Sophie Dahl, designer Alexander McQueen and Royal milliner Philip Treacy.
Mrs Blow, who had recently learnt she was suffering from ovarian cancer, had made two suicide attempts in the past.
Famous for her passion for flamboyant hats and blood red lipstick, she was once described as one of the 20 most important people in fashion.
