I WAS reflecting on why I feel so privileged to live in Stroud.
Yes the countryside is beautiful and we have an industrial heritage that is gutsier than the Cirencester I came from.
But for me it is the influence of the Green Party (working with others) that has made such an impact.
I would highlight the Green Party's initiatives in leading Stroud District Council to become the first carbon neutral local authority; the funding gained to implement the cheap and natural way to lower flood risk and getting a strong local plan that protects green spaces and steers future building to sustainable locations.
These are three of many initiatives driven by the Green Party.
The local elections were a valuable opportunity to shape the future of Stroud.
Important for all of us to reflect on our good fortune in living in Stroud.
