I WAS surprised at the statement in your ‘comment’ column on May 11, that more people voted for the Conservatives (than for whom?).
If the total votes of the most successful ward candidates for each of the three main parties are totalled, I make the votes for each party as follows: Labour 12,640 Conservative 12,341 Green Party 9,731 Labour gained the most votes and Labour and Green together overwhelmingly outvoted the Conservatives.
How does that amount to “locking out” the Conservatives?
