THE recent photo of Jack Tiley’s wedding reminded me that I have a photo of Cainscross RFC’s first team in 1931/1932 season.
The trophy suggests that this was a successful season.
Jack Tiley is third from the right in the back row.
My father, George Stockwell, was captain that year, and had a long association with the club and its supporters’ club.
He also appears as part of the guard of honour in the wedding photo.
I think two members of the team were called Jefferies.
Perhaps other readers will be able to identify more of the players.
