I WISH to object on planning grounds to an application at Chalford Hill Primary School.

Chalford Hill is mainly a collection of stone-built properties, many dating back over 300 years and the area rightly holds the title of being an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Since the formation of the Chalford parish in 1894, successive parish and district councils have respected the fact that the village sits in one of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds and any planned changes were rigorously scrutinised to ensure that they conformed and complemented the area.

The Chalford Hill Primary School was designed and built to complement the Congregational Church (Grade II listed) and the Manse.

As a precedent, previous extensions to the school have been added and each design conformed to the existing architecture. The current proposed design is completely at odds with the architecture of the school and the area and should never have been submitted.
