I AM one of the angry people of the older generation who are ashamed of those in our peer group who voted out.
Our generation has mostly prospered and now enjoy a well provided retirement.
Those who voted out have betrayed and blighted the future of a young generation, which overwhelmingly want a fellowship within Europe and the world.
Too many showed hostility to immigrants past and recent.
They yearned for the Great Britain of their school atlas.
A Great Britain, which frequently conquered and maintained an Empire by military force.
An Empire, which sent back riches to enrich the United Kingdom and spent frugally on the foreign natives they found there.
Ignorant of economics and the nature of innovation, they argue a revived Great Britain will be so great it can take on the world and Europe without being part of them.
The young must organise themselves, start a “‘Back to Europe”’ campaign.
Emulate by truth the despicable campaign of UKIP and the Brexiteers.
The future is theirs, not that of the older generation who have stolen it from them.
