I’M a bit concerned that the people who have trouble with inputting their details suffer from poor eyesight, and dementia (your words), I sincerely hope this is a misprint as with those conditions they shouldn’t be driving anyway; that aside I’m amazed that the NHS uses a company like Parking Eye to monitor its car park.

I have been ticketed by them in London - I appealed on the basis they were wrong and they relented after much discussion but would someone else with less time have given up and paid the fine?

They are only entitled to a loss of income if you don’t pay and in most cases that is a few quid not the hundreds they demand.

On the issue about the lack of disabled parking in Stroud I have the opportunity to see this for myself recently when waiting in Bedford Street car park for my wife to pick me up; the number of people I observed with blue badges who parked up (on their own) and then hopped out of their cars and strolled off into town was amazing – I would say 80 per cent of these drivers had no disability that I could discern – maybe the answer is to crack down on this sort of abuse of the system to allow people with genuine disabilities the help and assistance that they need and deserve.
