I OUTLINE and comment, having read all the letters in the SNJ of Wednesday, July 6, and at other times about the referendum.

It reminds me of the old song The Hokey Cokey, ie: “In out shake it all about”

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’ll never stop!

Regarding the EU Remain brigade and their request for a second referendum, no way, just because the losers disliked the result.

The majority have spoken, so be it. That is democracy at work. After all, when people dislike the result of an election, too bad.

It’s never re-run, it would be never ending!

As for “students” etc, although I can understand them, somewhat, comments such as “the electorate have voted irresponsibly” are none other than a frustrated comment. NO they have not voted “irresponsibly.” This is a fully democratic decision.

I have noted that some students made loud noises along with the usual sort of protest brigade cluttering up London. I seriously suggest that these people work to put the “Great” back into Britain.

Those who blatantly stated that they “are European” and the similar placard wavers, if they are so convinced of that then I seriously suggest that they emigrate across the English Channel now, I am sure that they would be “welcomed” with open arms, or would they?

As for the reported three million people signing an online petition for a second referendum, again – No Way!

I personally know from experience that such petitions can be signed by people with computer access from anywhere in the world, even from the Amazon jungle to half way up Mount Everest.

Frankly, no one under the age of 55, taking into account maturing, would have a clue as to how great Great Britain was before the onset of the EU and its interference into all aspects of our lives by an unelected self aggrandising, self effacing elite, that is what Brexit supporters objected to and why the vote went as it did.

I am sure that if the members of that “elite” had worked for the citizenry of all the 28 nations instead of for their own selves, the result would have been different.

In fact there would probably not have been a referendum! Don’t forget, the UK was not the first country to consider its own people although those two other results were, seemingly, “twisted”!

As for the Scottish independence referendum where people from the age of 16 were allowed to vote, that was a very different scenario to the whole of UK and the EU referendum. If however, that strident Nicola Sturgeon manages to organise and hold another Scottish independence referendum simply because SHE does not like the EU result either and for some obscure reason dislikes the UK, then if the result is their exit from the UK and a continuance with the EU I am afraid that eventually she and they will live to regret it.

They are too small an international village and too small economically.

She’s already experienced, on her recent visit to Brussels, the two facedness of Jean Claude Juncker and the rest of that Elite Band of Rollers!
