OVER many years, I have grumbled and moaned about various local planning decisions that have looked unusual at first glance.

However after investigation, a local need has been satisfied, jobs or homes have been created and my concerns have come to nothing.

However, two local decisions in Cambridge have baffled me.

The first is a large commercial storage facility at Elm Farm where access is directly onto the A38 on to a bend where the speed limit is the national 60mph.

This will be very dangerous if articulated lorries turn into this site from the south.

The second is the water storage lagoon at Barton Field, Cambridge.

This was never allowed at the planning stage but allowed by the Planning Officer at a later stage.

However the current lagoon has never been permitted and is the subject of enforcement action.

In the meantime, the residents are looking at an eyesore.

I hope in the future no accidents occur at Elm Farm and the lagoon at Barton Fields is suitably landscaped.
