On Saturday, September 17, my wife and I who are both in our eighties, went to see Sue Kelvin in Bette Midler and Me at the Subscription Rooms.

My Satnav said that the nearest car park was at Merrywalks and as we do not know Stroud we asked a young man from a group of twenty somethings for directions from there.

He was not sure but brought his brother who not only knew the way but left his friends and walked with us (very slowly) to the Coffee One corner to be sure that we did not get lost.

He was delightful and his whole group were friendly, courteous and helpful to us, in short they were a great advertisement for the young people of the area.

We did, of course, thank him but hope that one of them sees this letter and can tell the others just how much we were impressed by them all.

The show was excellent too.
