I WOULD like to express my thanks and gratitude to John and Maggie Mills who are retiring from running businesses in Stroud.
John and Maggie represent a part of Stroud that we all love and what has made Stroud so special in the past and I hope still continues.
Over the years and right from the start they have supported young people with jobs in their successful cafe, welcomed customers and offered a unique and special service to all who went to their cafe and shop.
John and Maggie are a part of Stroud that I hope we never lose.
Unique, unconventional, strong in their beliefs, generous, kind and with a close connection to the area and the environment.
This makes Stroud a great place to live and shop.
I for one will miss them and I am sure many people who have enjoyed their delicious locally sourced food, special service and the welcoming atmosphere will also miss them.
May I wish you both, John and Maggie, a well-deserved rest and a very happy retirement from everyone in Stroud.
