I READ the article on the above in the Stroud News & Journal dated Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
I have frequented the Sub Rooms since I was 15 years old.
I am now 65, so that is 50 years.
As you can imagine I was horrified to think that because of Stroud District Council’s tightening budgets they are looking at other ways of running this historic venue.
It has been a part of my life and so many other people’s, we need to keep this historic venue alive.
So many memories – acoustically it’s brilliant too.
Julie Wickham’s article had hit the nail on the head.
Let’s find the cash/investment for this vital asset to continue.
Please don’t let this wonderful venue disappear into oblivion, it is a most important part of Stroud’s heritage.
