I HAVE seen recent advertisements by The Law Society to consult a solicitor for good legal advice.
However, following admissions by Mr Phil Shiner of Public Interest Lawyers, that some of his claims against the Ministry of Defence for the army’s so-called torture in Iraq, were false, makes me wonder why The Law Society itself did not intervene to put a stop to this charade.
This has lost the taxpayer millions and put our brave soldiers under unnecessary duress.
I am sure there are some decent lawyers out there but I do have to question whether The Law Society is fit for purpose.
