I AM in total agreement with Molly Robert’s complaint (SNJ Feb 1) that there should be no Westminster based politics on the letter’s page of our local paper.
The letter’s page should be solely confined to local issues and not used as a receptacle for letters best addressed to national newspapers.
As one of the sinners that Molly refers to I would prefer that any Westminster based politics be confined to the SNJ web-pages which would have the benefit of being instantly available to read.
I understand that the SNJ has a regular backlog of letters awaiting publication by which time many lose their impact.
Move these offending letters to the website and thereby allow letters on local issues to be more quickly printed in newspaper.
Obviously once a general election has been called, biased political letters should be published for period of the campaign.
