I WOULD just like to congratulate the cooperative alliance that runs Stroud District Council on their budget proposals to create a walking and cycling plan.
Part of the plan will see a cycle track linking Uley, Dursley and Cam with the Cam and Dursley railway station.
What we need is a safe way that people of all ages can cycle from Uley to Dursley. The CDU Greenway Group is making this happen together with help from Stroud District Council.
Cycle paths make cycling safer and a healthier way to get around and the Group has got one incorporated into the Stroud Local Plan. We want to be able to cycle safely from Uley through Dursley, on to Cam and arrive at the Cam and Dursley Railway Station.
Parts of the route have cycle path provision already, and with local peoples’ support and Stroud District Council we could enable the route along the Uley Road to link-up with Ewelme Close and beyond. Look up CDU Greenway on Facebook.
