I WOULD like to add my support to John Marjoram’s excellent letter in the March 1 edition of the SNJ.
I don’t always agree with Mr Marjoram’s views but, on Brexit, I’m fully behind him.
His comment on the ignorance displayed in the Referendum is very worrying and the Government’s attempts to enlighten people just caused more confusion.
I was listening to local radio after the vote and one lady, commenting on the crash of the pound, said it didn’t matter to her as she didn’t go abroad on holiday.
I’m sure she’s now discovered that, as we are a net importer of goods, almost everything in her shopping basket now costs more. And, as petrol prices are on the up again, even those things we produce ourselves will cost more.
With the Border Agency moving back from Calais to Dover, so will the Calais ‘jungle’. The French will have no reason to stop those seeking asylum in the UK.
Can’t say I would blame them.
