IT WAS good to see two prominently presented letters (from Nick James and Erik Wilkinson) on the subject of climate change in the March 22 edition of the SNJ responding to Rachel Beckett’s An Alternative View piece.

I think most people recognise that the pace of change towards the “net zero carbon” world needed to limit climate change is not necessarily fast enough. I encourage anyone who is concerned about this to register their support for the aims of Gloucestershire Climate Action Network (gloscan.org), and to get involved in its work as much or as little as they feel able. GlosCAN campaigns, but is not party-political; registered supporters include MEPs from Conservative, Green and Labour parties.

Many supporters of GlosCAN are also involved in Transition Stroud (mentioned in both letters). The two are complementary parts of the local response to the challenge of climate change.
