I HAVE puzzled over what Richard House’s title of doctor really is. He smacks of ideology rather than compos mentis.
He rambles on under a heading of political angst about a blatant lie being nothing more than a cynical PR spin.
Is he really qualified to label politicians as ethically barren hoodwinkers of the electorate.
He then rudely uses the word ‘cynical’ again in regard to a referendum promise in the Tory manifesto, and goes on to accuse the Tory Part of self-interested shenanigans.
Antisthenes of Athens (c.444 BC) founded a sect for philosophers who were contempt of riches, ostentatiously pessimistic and surly: these were the Cynics.
