Unsurprisingly with the 'Election just 3 weeks away I noticed that already Neil Carmichael is quoted in the S.N.J. 26 April as saying "I have delivered a lot locally" inferring I think that he should be judged on his "record".

I know I'm getting on a bit, so my memory could be at fault, but I can't remember him delivering anything, other than perhaps some Tory propaganda leaflets, although according to the Electoral Commission the Tory party spent £4 million delivering their leaflets, so maybe I just imagined him doing it.

When he first came to Office he was quoted in the S.N.J. 12 May 2010 as saying "I will begin my task of representing the entire constituency and all individuals in the House of Commons. I look forward to having a constructive dialogue with your readers through your 'Paper."

Even the bluest blue Tory supporter couldn't suggest he has done any of the above but just in case none of his supporters come forward with a list of his achievements I decided to do some research myself.

I can honestly say it was very difficult to find anything he has done for this constituency.

He "championed the Skylark", he talks a lot about Festomane which is what we used to call a careers convention and also the Berkeley Green U.T.C which he says he "helped to bring to the region" but the majority was just supporting national Tory policy.

I have a lovely lavish brochure with a picture of David Cameron and George Osborne on the front telling us they were "Securing Britain's Future".

Anyone remember them?

Where are they now?

Just shows how much they cared about Britain's future and yet somehow they won an election.

It must have been down to that Australian fellow Lynton Crosby who was paid £2.4 million for his services to scaremongering and then got a Knighthood as an extra special thank you.

It could of course have been helped by the £1.2 million the Tories spent advertising themselves on Facebook compared with £16,000 for the Labour Party.

We musn't forget, although they don't want us to mention until after the Election, the £15 million the Tories spent on "expenses".

The fact that, at our expense, they tried to get the high court to prevent the publication of a report about levels of pollution across the U.K. but fortunately they do have to publish it.

They tried to suggest it is a political issue but the High Court said that as pollution contributes to the deaths of thousands of people each year it is a public health issue.

This is a good indicator of how much the Tories care about you and me.

Don't mention either the attempt by Teresa May, at our expense, to prevent democracy working in the House of Commons to vote on the rubbish deal she is going to get from the European Union.

Funny really when you think she was Home Secretary for 5 years and she didn't even seem to understand that the law even applies to her or did she just hope nobody would notice.

Thank goodness for Gina Miller I say. Teresa May has called an Election, but forgot to produce a manifesto so that she and her millionaire Cabinet can't be questioned on anything.

Just last week though they suggested introducing a "cap" on energy prices which when suggested by Ed Milliband in 2015 was rubbish but now it's a Tory policy idea it's brilliant.

It is perfectly clear, as politicians regularly say, if you want a democratic, transparent Government that acts with honesty and integrity do not even think of voting Conservative.

Yours in despair, Howard Price
