A REPLY to ‘A bridge too far!’ (letters page April 19).
The name plate on the railway bridge is correct by Network Rail Records, which owns the bridge.
I rang Network Rail the day the plate went up - their reply was Painswick Rd overbridge Cashes Green Road not Painswick Rd Gloucester.
One hundred and three miles, 21 chains from London Paddington.
The name might have come years ago, by a road or old carriage route to Painswick via Randwick and Edge?
