I ENCLOSE my poem about the issues concerning the WASPI Campaign.
We are 1950s born Women Against State Pension Inequality.
As I write this I have today’s SNJ open at the jobs page discussing the March of the Millennials which confirms all I have said about the young in my poem.

WASPI Campaign
Oh, Oh what can you do
I feel cheated and so do you
Cridland said each extra added year
Needed 10 years notice to be absolutely fair
1995 Act SPA moved for 1950s women
But no notice was sent and none given
The Government attempted transitional stages
But didn’t account for us not getting wages.
They planned to save a great deal of money
Robbing it from us to give to the treasury
In 2011 another Act bundled us up together
And dumped on us an SPA of 66 whether, we like it or not
With equality we do not disagree
The way it was implemented is the problem you see
Plus 1950s women rarely treated fair
For all their working lives were piecemeal we declare.
Can you not see the hardships you have caused?
By moving the goalposts and altering the clause.
Transitionary payments we demand for ourselves
And for future generations not to be forced into hells
We planned all our lives around retirement at 60
So did those who took us on, not being shifty
You ask too much of the working classes
You expect continuation but under what basis?
Employers are not persuaded
That women in their sixties have not faded
They want to concentrate on the future you see
Not on past generations of alacrity
You have not told them, they’re not convinced
That we are a safe bet, innovative or high jinxed
They want to invest in the youth of today
Who can blame them, its always been the way
Yes there are professions where age is not an issue
But for the majority of 1950s women, it is the only issue.
Come on be brave and admit your mistake
Let’s agree on the best way forward for Heaven’s sake!
We 1950s women give you a better deal
Retired home carers helping our families survive
Look, in reality, what we actually do for youth continuing to strive
Be fair, be just and gradually introduce
Via sixty years, these six SPQ years plus!
