I WANT to thank all those who supported me during the General Election.
It has been a great honour and pleasure to have represented the Stroud Valleys and Vale in Parliament since 2010. I have worked with so many organisations, interests and individuals over the years, and I thank them all.
My focuses have been on education, economics, the environment and Europe but I have also worked hard in other policy areas, including healthcare and planning. Many have been kind enough to salute the things I have achieved and I am immensely grateful to them for doing so.
We face a difficult and daunting future. From outside Parliament, I will do what I can to ensure the values that matter are protected and, where necessary, enhanced. You can be sure I will fight again for the things I believe in but, in the meantime, I wish everyone well in the new political circumstances.
