Reader's Letter: Laugh or cry?
I SEE that the primary school in Minchinhampton now calls itself a “primary academy”, and am left wondering whether to laugh or cry.
Cry because of the pointless abuse of a perfectly good word which used to have a well-understood meaning, or laugh at the foolish pretentiousness of those who apparently think this renaming is somehow appropriate.
It is quite simply a school, and there’s nothing wrong with that!
