On the news that Gloucestershire Police have released CCTV footage of a man suspected of fatally shooting a pet cat in Ebley.

Posted by Nath Camm: As ever useless Stroud plod taking too long to try to sort this out.

There is a list as long as my arm to sort Stroud out, but as ever they can’t be bothered.

Most of it would take five minutes to sort out and would make Stroud a much nicer place to shop and live.

Posted by GJP: Well thank you for that intelligent contribution nath. How exactly are the police expected to catch a cat shooter? Perhaps they should look for any CCTV footage and put the images in the local pape ... oh hang on! They have!

So what else would you suggest? Come on genius! They should have sorted it in five minutes? Enlighten us!

Posted by Savio Vega: To shoot a defenceless cat in the head is abhorrent, whether or not he intended to kill poor Percy. I should like to place this man in a stiff Boston crab or, to really teach him a lesson, the Walls of Jericho.

On Stroud District Council removing funding from three joint-use sport facilities: Posted by BobinStroud: One positive of this story is that they may see an increase in usage. I for one didn’t know these were available and would much rather go to Stonehouse than Stroud. It may be too little too late, but this is advertisement none the less!

On a woman’s plea for speed cameras on the road where her boyfriend died when the car in which he was a passenger crashed: Posted by kjag23: Seems kind of odd to not blame the driver who was speeding but to blame the council for not putting up speed cameras.

Of course speed cameras may make the road slower and safer, but the limit is already in place and was intentionally ignored. It’s hardly the council’s fault.

Posted by mmaxab: Tragic, he had no control over his destiny unlike the driver, have to agree with kjag, it was the drivers fault , not the car, the road or the conditions at the time Posted by PaulieHHH: If speeding is a genuine issue on this road, speed cameras would be the answer. In my experience, drivers only slow down if they fear getting a fine, not out of safety concerns. So tragic. RIP.
