IT IS horrifying to read that the food bank is in urgent need of more donations.
In the long summer holidays free school dinners are not available and some children are going hungry.
What do we remember of our summer holidays when we were children?
For me (now 80) it is of sleeping in a tent in the garden, going caravanning, certainly not of being hungry.
Yet this seems to be what many of tomorrow’s adults, today’s children, may remember of their austerity summer holidays in 2017.
