RE. Stonehouse High Street / Bristol Road electrical cable laying.
SO GCC states that to take the ‘secondary route’ for this cable from the Ryeford sub station to Javelin Park would cost an additional £2.2m.
This necessitates the upheaval of the aforementioned roads for six months!
This entire unnecessary incinerator project will be, I forecast historically, a short lived exercise since there are other methods available and apparently cheaper, of dealing with the colossal amount of waste.
As I write with regard to the road works just commenced on the B4008 Bristol Road adjacent to Woodcock Lane / Oldends Lane junctions, the pedestrian crossing lights have been switched off with the control boxes wrapped up warmly for the winter!
Why?
Is this supposed to ease the traffic flow near the temporary portable traffic lights?
Madness!
