LUDLOW and District Community Association (trading as Ludlow Assembly Rooms - LAR) is pleased to offer support and encouragement to Stroud Trust in its pursuit of obtaining a community asset transfer of Stroud Subscription Rooms.

Like Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Stroud Subscription Rooms was built through public subscription by and for the community.

Facilities such as these are an important part of any community and should be preserved as such.

Ludlow Assembly Rooms is approaching its twenty-fifth anniversary of being an arts and community centre, serving a town of 10,000 with a rural hinterland of 35,000.

It has not always been easy but with a committed Board of trustees, over 130 active volunteers, a small but highly skilled staff team, 500 Friends of LAR (members) and the support of individuals, societies and groups across the town, we have weathered all the storms to date.

Once a facility such as Stroud Subscription Rooms is lost to the community, it is usually lost forever.

We would be happy to host an information visit to our facility if that would be helpful and to provide whatever support we are able.

LAR wishes Stroud Trust well in its pursuit of retaining Stroud Subscription Rooms as the heart of Stroud for the people of Stroud.
