Madam- Thank you for printing my second letter on the subject of Hunts Grove etc.

Unfortunately a decimal point was missing in your printed version, the figure stated as £11 million should have read £1.1 million. However the total of £6.2 million as printed was the correct total for the amounts taken from the proceeds of OUR council house sales, by the Labour Government for use in their heartlands over a five year period.

If I may also point out, that the figure of £13.2 million taken from our rent receipts over three years, is to be used for council housing repairs in the Metropolitan boroughs, the Midlands and the North. This leaves the SDC with a shortfall of money to repair our own housing stock including the Woolaway Buildings.

Effectively nearly £20 million pounds is to be taken as a stealth tax away the SDC's area over a five year period.
