ISLE of Man TT star Guy Martin and up-and-coming Brimscombe racer Daniel Cooper are the first modern day TT riders to commit to the new Classic TT races, due to be held for the first time in 2013.

Martin, a 13-times TT podium finisher and 2006 British 125cc Champion Cooper have agreed to ride for Team Molnar Manx on 500cc Molnar Manx Nortons in the inaugural 500cc Classic TT race, scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2013.

The deal sees a return to the Isle of Man for Team Molnar Manx after a 10-year absence. The team enjoyed notable success around the Mountain, winnning the Senior Classic Manx Grand Prix in 2000 with Glen English and 2002 with Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle when they last competed.

Martin, arguably the most well-known motorcyclist in the UK at the present due to his starring role in the TT3D Closer to the Edge film last year and his current Channel 4 television show ‘Building Britain’, will contest the event on the latest evolution of the 95-bore Molnar Manx Norton.

Team-mate Cooper is one of the rising stars of the TT, having achieved his first top 10 finishes during this year’s event, and he is tipped as a future winner. Both riders have also not ruled out further outings in one of the other Classic TT classes.

Andy Molnar of Team Molnar Manx said: “Daniel Cooper has shown great potential around the Mountain Course already and coming from a successful 125cc background, we feel he has the riding style required to get the best from our machinery.”
