RANDWICK U16s travelled to Dorset for their first fixture in the regional netball competition against Jersey Jets who were runners- up in the league last season.

Randwick were committed and tenacious from the start.

Misha Harris at centre and Zoe Phillips at wing attack powered out passing the ball accurately to the shooters, Beth Poultney at goal attack and Meg Chastney at goal shooter.

The defence never allowed Jersey an easy goal with Georgie Paton at goalkeeper intercepting, tipping and working tirelessly, despite a crunching fall in the third quarter, with Izzy Utting and Abby Gaunt who shared the goal defence position restricting Jersey's options. Randwick found their form in the second quarter winning it 9-8.

Ellie Jones and Kirsty Gaunt both played wing defence and made huge contributions, holding up Jersey's attacking moves and chasing down loose balls to turn them to Randwick's advantage.

Randwick were unable to convert enough of their opportunities to match Jersey but Randwick’s performance was outstanding and demonstrated their talent and commitment.
