AHEAD of Gloucester Rugby playing in the JP Morgan Premiership 7s final evening on Friday evening, Sevens coach Olly Morgan has revealed one change in that Apo Satala will be pulling on a Gloucester shirt again.

After the young squad qualified for the final at The Rec, Satala joins the squad as they attempt to go one better than last year and take away some silverware from The Rec.

Satala, 34, replaces Tom Ailes in the named squad and takes Gloucester's Fijian contingent to three with Akapusi Qera and Andrew Bulumakau providing some power and flair to the Cherry and White squad as well as offering similar qualities to compliment the team.

Gloucester Rugby Sevens coach Olly Morgan explained that it was important to bring in a player of similar qualities after the squad change.

Morgan said: "Tom Ailes provided us with strength at the breakdown and tackling, we needed to bring in someone that possessed similar qualities and Apo does just that.

"Having played for Gloucester for two years he knows the way we like to play and he can bring his experience of Sevens at the top level.

"We're pleased Apo is here and he will be a great addition to our young and exciting squad as we head down to The Rec."

Satala left Kingsholm for Sale Sharks in 2010 and boasts a huge amount of Sevens experience having tasted success including a Commonwealth Bronze medal in 2006 as well as representing Fiji and the British Armed Forces side that won two Middlesex Sevens titles.
