CHRIS DENT and James Fuller have committed their futures to Gloucestershire.

Batsman Dent, who came through the youth system at Thornbury, has signed a two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at the club until 2016.

The 22-year-old is enjoying a fine season for the county, having scored 852 runs in Division Two of the County Championship at an average of 48.31.

Dent said: “I am really pleased to have extended my contract for another two years at the club I grew up at, and am looking forward in helping the team push for promotion.”

Seam bowler Fuller, who has also signed a two-year extension to his contract, has been a regular member of Gloucestershire’s one-day and Twenty20 sides since joining the club in 2011 and has also made seven County Championship appearances this season.

The 23-year-old said: “I am pleased to have signed an extension to my contract; this is a great club and I have learnt a lot so far during my three years here.

“We have excellent coaching and support staff at Gloucestershire, who have aided my learning so far and will continue to add to my game over the next few years.

“I am excited about where this group is moving and I can’t wait for this team to win our first trophy.”

Gloucestershire chief executive Tom Richardson said: “We are delighted that Chris Dent has signed an extension to his contract.

“Chris is a product of our Academy and I’m really keen to see him go from strength to strength. We have a strong feeling that the best is yet to come.”

“It is really good news that James has extended his contract. He has made extremely good progress in the three years he has been with us and he is only going to get better.”
