Model footballer Duncan Culley hoping for a handsome FA Cup result at Aldershot Town
SHORTWOOD striker Duncan Culley is hoping to help his side pull off a handsome FA Cup result at Skrill Premier Conference outfit Aldershot Town tonight (7.45pm).
The 25-year-old Bristol-born male model missed the Nailsworth side’s fourth qualifying round clash at Meadowbank on Saturday due to a one-match ban after picking up five bookings.
He said: “I'm so happy that I now get a chance to play against Aldershot.
"It's been bothering me for two weeks, knowing that a yellow card that was never a yellow card at Didcot inthe last round was keeping me out of this game.
Culley was a frustrated onlooker on Saturday as reserve team striker Sean Lawson bagged the last minute goal to earn replay.
He added: “The boys deserved a replay and Tom King pulled off a fantastic save.”
Culley is expected to start tonight after smashing 13 goals in 15 games and is determined to help John Evans’ and Alex Sykes’ side pull off a cup shock against the professional outfit and land a plum home tie against League One outfit Port Vale in the first round.
The much-travelled Culley spent the 2012/13 season with Division Three side Pontypridd Town before a spell at Hartpury College, where he completed a masters in business management.
Culley cuts a dash on-and-off the pitch and is certainly loving life at Shortwood.
He said: “I've modelled all over the UK, then when I lived in LA for a year I worked for LA Models. Now, I develop businesses privately for wealthy people.”
"It's my first year playing senior football in England and this great FA Cup run has been brilliant."
