SOUTHERN League minnows Shortwood United are to meet the FA and police to decide if they can host their FA Cup first round tie with Port Vale at their own ground.
Shortwood play at the 1,500-capacity Meadowbank in Nailsworth, where average attendances are normally around the 120-mark and access is via narrow country lanes.
Shortwood, who beat Conference side Aldershot in a final qualifying round replay last night, could switch to near neighbours Forest Green Rovers New Lawn.
That is where Micky Adams took his side at the same stage of the competition in November last year and came away with a 3-2 win.
Forest Green are without a game on the weekend of November 9 when the tie is scheduled, but Shortwood are understood to be very keen to play on their own turf.
The decision will have to be made quickly and could be announced as soon as this afternoon.
BT Sport are visiting the Meadowbank ground today, Wednesday, with the game likelly to be televised.
BBC Points West are set to interview the squad and staff tonight as the media attention gathers momentum.
